Smart speakers

There is a family of devices that are self-suficient.

You (usually) do not need any additional device to make those devices stream music directly from the internet.

They have some unique attributes in comparison to classic speakers:

  • they do not require any analog cables
  • they do not require any AVR
  • they do not need any additional device to play music from the Internet

Recently both Apple HomePod and Amazon Echo can be used as a soundbar using eARC connection in theater mode.
